Get expert healthcare advice and treatment for common conditions directly from your local pharmacy without needing a GP appointment.
Pharmacists are experts in medicines and are trained to recognise and treat a wide range of everyday health problems. For many common conditions, your pharmacy is the quickest and most convenient place to get help, and it frees up GP appointments for people with more complex needs.
The service covers a range of common ailments. Examples include hay fever, conjunctivitis, cold sores, indigestion, constipation, head lice, thrush, athlete’s foot and sore throats. If you are not sure whether your problem is covered, just ask and we will let you know.
You will be seen in our private consultation room. The pharmacist will ask about your symptoms, how long you have had them and any medicines you already take. They will then give you advice and, where appropriate, supply a suitable treatment. If your symptoms suggest something that needs further investigation, they will refer you to your GP or another healthcare professional.
The consultation is confidential and a record of it is kept securely. With your consent, your GP surgery can be informed so that your health record stays up to date. Eligibility criteria apply to the service, and you may be asked to confirm some details, such as the GP surgery you are registered with, before your first consultation.
You do not always need an appointment, but booking ahead means we can make sure a pharmacist is available to see you without a long wait. Speak to a member of staff if you have any questions, or book your consultation online.
