Eligibility for a free NHS vaccination is set for each seasonal campaign and can change from one campaign to the next. It usually includes older adults, residents of care homes and people with a weakened immune system. Your appointment only takes a few minutes. The pharmacist will ask some questions about your health, any allergies and any previous reactions to vaccines, then give the injection in your upper arm. You may be asked to wait for a short time afterwards so we can make sure you feel well before you leave.
Mild side effects such as a sore arm, tiredness, a headache or aching muscles are common and normally pass within a day or two. Please let us know before your appointment if you have a high temperature or feel unwell on the day, as it may be better to rearrange your visit.
